About the game

Sploshkins is a free 3D paint blaster arena game for the whole family. You play a cheerful little paint pot, seen through its own eyes, and splash computer-controlled rivals with colourful paint. Nobody gets hurt: a splatted pot pops into confetti and is back three seconds later. Run, jump and dash through five arenas built like giant toys: the Toy Room, the Candy Factory, the Pirate Deck, the Space Station and the Veggie Garden.

Choose between four game modes: Splat Party (everyone for themselves), Team Splash, Colour Clash (paint more floor than the other team) and Dully Rush (waves of grey Dullies, with two computer friends). Five blasters play very differently, from the quick Splasher to the charged Zoomer. Win stars in the 25 matches of the Colour Tour, try the daily challenge with its twist, set up your own quick match, and spend the coins you earn on new characters, paint colours and blaster finishes. All the other players are computer players, and your progress is saved in your browser.

How to play

  • Move with W A S D and look around with the mouse; click on the game to capture the pointer, press Esc to free it and pause.
  • Hold the left mouse button to splash. Space jumps, Shift dashes, R refills the paint tank, keys 1–5 or the mouse wheel change the blaster, Tab shows the scores.
  • On a touch screen: the left thumb moves, dragging anywhere else looks around, the blaster fires by itself when the crosshair is on a rival (or hold FIRE), and buttons jump, dash, refill and change the blaster.
  • Hits on the lid (the top of a pot) count extra. Hearts heal, bubbles shield, the paint tank gives endless paint for a while and the lightning bolt makes you faster.
  • Splat Party and Team Splash are won with splats, Colour Clash by painting more floor, Dully Rush by clearing the waves with your 3 hearts.
  • A gamepad works too: left stick to move, right stick to look, RT to splash, A to jump, B to dash.

Tips and tricks

  • Aim a little high: hits on the lid of a pot do about a third more damage and show a golden number.
  • Your health refills by itself after five quiet seconds, so step behind a block when the screen edge fills with paint.
  • Pick the blaster for the distance: Fizzer when you can almost touch a rival, Splasher in the middle, Tri-Pop and Zoomer from far away.
  • The Globber's blob flies in an arc and splashes everyone near the landing spot. Aim at the floor next to a rival, not at the rival.
  • In Colour Clash, shoot the floor while you run: every drop that lands paints, and a splatted rival leaves a big splash of your colour.
  • Dash sideways when a Zoomer is charging at you, and jump onto 1 m crates to see over low cover.
  • In Dully Rush you get a heart back after every third wave, and everybody on your side is fully healed when a wave is cleared.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sploshkins free?

Yes. Sploshkins is free, runs in your browser and needs no download and no account. Coins are only earned by playing; nothing can be bought with real money.

Do I play against real people?

No. All the other players are computer players, marked with a CPU label. That means no chat, no waiting for a match and a difficulty you choose yourself: Easy, Normal, Hard or Expert.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes. The blasters shoot paint, the characters are paint pots, tubes, a rubber duck and friends, and a splatted player just pops into confetti and returns after three seconds. There is no blood and nobody gets hurt.

Does it work on phones and tablets?

Yes. You get a move stick under the left thumb, you drag on the rest of the screen to look, and the blaster fires by itself when the crosshair is on a rival. It plays best with the phone turned sideways, but portrait works too, and the graphics lower themselves if the device is slow.

How do I get new blasters and characters?

Blasters open with your level: you start with the Splasher and the Fizzer, the Tri-Pop comes at level 2, the Globber at level 3 and the Zoomer at level 5. Characters, paint colours and blaster finishes are bought in the Locker with coins from matches, stars and the daily challenge.

The mouse does not turn the view. What can I do?

Click once on the game so the browser can capture the pointer; Esc frees it again. If the browser refuses to capture it, the game switches to free mouse look by itself: move the mouse to look and keep it near the edge to keep turning. The sensitivity is in the settings.
