About the game

Hop into a cute toy kart and bump your way to the top! Bumperpaws is a colourful top-down kart battle game starring little animal drivers. Drive through gift boxes to grab rockets, bouncy jelly balls, pop mines, bubble shields, turbo rams and thunder zaps, then use them to knock out the computer karts. Every kart has two hearts, so two good hits send a rival out for a moment.

Play 16 career events in 4 arenas, from Picnic Park and Sunny Cove to slippery Frosty Rink and sweet Candy Castle, with mud, bumpers, boost pads and ice. Three modes keep every round fresh: Bash Battle, Crown Keeper and Candy Grab. Earn up to 3 stars per event to open new arenas, collect coins to unlock 8 drivers with their own speed, grip and weight, and set up your own Quick battles against 3 to 5 bots.

How to play

Phone: drag anywhere on the left side of the screen to drive; tap the round item button to use your item.
Computer: drive with W A S D or the arrow keys (or hold the mouse button where you want to go); Space, F or Enter uses your item, right-click works too.
Drive through gift boxes to get an item: rocket, jelly blaster, pop mine, bubble shield, turbo ram or thunder pop.
Every kart has 2 hearts; lose both and you are out for 2 seconds.
Bash Battle: most knockouts wins. Crown Keeper: hold the crown the longest. Candy Grab: collect the most candies.
P or Esc: pause.

Tips and tricks

Always have an item: when your item button is empty, head for the nearest gift box before you look for a fight.
The rocket curves towards the nearest kart in front of you, so point roughly at a rival and fire; it does not need a perfect aim.
Jelly balls bounce off walls up to two times. In tight spots near hedges and walls, fire them at an angle to hit karts hiding around a corner.
Drop a pop mine right next to a gift box or in a narrow gap: bots love to drive through those places.
Keep the bubble shield for when a rocket is coming or when you carry the crown; it blocks the next hit.
In Crown Keeper, the holder is a little slower and a hard bump knocks the crown loose, so stay away from the others and use boost pads to escape.
In Candy Grab you drop up to 3 candies when you are hit, and half of them when you are knocked out, so a shield is worth a lot when you are in the lead.

Frequently asked questions

Is Bumperpaws free?

Yes. Bumperpaws is free to play in your browser on phones, tablets and computers. Coins are earned only by playing; there is nothing to buy.

Am I playing against real people?

No. All the other karts are computer drivers, and they are marked with a BOT tag above the kart and on the scoreboard.

How do I get 3 stars?

Finish in the top 3 for one star and in 1st place for two. For the third star you also need to reach the goal of the event, for example a number of knockouts, seconds with the crown or candies.

How do I unlock new arenas and drivers?

Stars open the arenas: Sunny Cove needs 6, Frosty Rink 15 and Candy Castle 26. Coins from every round unlock the 6 extra drivers in the Drivers menu.

Can I play with the keyboard?

Yes. Drive with W A S D or the arrow keys, use your item with Space, F or Enter, and pause with P or Esc. You can also hold the mouse button where you want to drive.
