About the game

Snipsnack is a physics puzzle about a very hungry little friend. Nibbo, a fluffy lavender creature who lives in a teacup, is waiting for his jellyberry, and the sweet hangs on ropes somewhere above him. Swipe across a rope to snip it, watch the jellyberry swing and fall with real physics, and drop it right into Nibbo's mouth. He follows the sweet with his eyes, opens wide when it comes close, chews happily when you get it right and looks sad when it gets away.

Play 60 levels in five themed boxes: the Picnic Box with ropes, snag pegs and bouncy jelly, the Bubble Bath where bubbles float the jellyberry up, the Breezy Attic with air puffers and prickly thorns, the Clockwork Box with moving pins and spinning thorns, and the Starlight Box with magic warp holes. Collect up to three stars in every level to open new boxes and unlock new jellyberry flavours. Every level has been solved by a computer simulation with all three stars, and the light bulb shows the path when you get stuck. It works with swipes on phones and tablets and with the mouse on computers, and your progress is saved in the browser.

How to play

  • Swipe across a rope to cut it, or tap right on it. With a mouse, hold the button and drag across the rope.
  • Get the jellyberry into Nibbo's mouth to finish the level, and collect the stars on the way.
  • Dotted circles around pegs tie a new rope when the jellyberry flies in. Pink jelly bars make it bounce.
  • Bubbles carry the jellyberry up: tap the bubble or press Space to pop it. Tap an air puffer (or press 1 to 4) to blow it.
  • Keep away from the purple thorns. Warp holes send the jellyberry out of their twin.
  • The light bulb (H) shows the path and the order of the moves. R restarts, P or Esc pauses.

Tips and tricks

  • Watch the first swing before you cut. A rope that is cut while the jellyberry moves sideways throws it in that direction, so wait for the swing that points towards Nibbo.
  • When there are several ropes, think about which one stays last. The jellyberry always swings around the ropes that are still tied.
  • Stars often sit on the swing path, not on the straight drop. Cutting a little later or a little earlier can bend the path through all three.
  • Inside a bubble the jellyberry rises slowly. Pop it right above Nibbo, or use an air puffer first to move it sideways.
  • Dotted pegs grab the jellyberry and start a new swing. Use them to change direction, then cut the new rope at the right moment.
  • Moving pins and spinning thorns repeat the same rhythm. Watch one full turn, then act at the same point in the next turn.
  • If you are stuck, tap the light bulb: it draws the path of a winning play and numbers the moves in order.

Frequently asked questions

Is Snipsnack free?

Yes. Snipsnack is a free online physics puzzle that you play in your browser, with no download and no account.

How many levels are there?

There are 60 levels, 12 in each of the five boxes. The next box opens when you have collected enough stars: 16 for the Bubble Bath, 40 for the Breezy Attic, 70 for the Clockwork Box and 100 for the Starlight Box.

Can every level be finished with 3 stars?

Yes. Every level was played by a computer simulation that fed Nibbo and collected all three stars.

What are the flavours?

Stars also unlock new colours for the jellyberry: Raspberry, Orange, Lemon, Mint, Blueberry and Rainbow. Choose your favourite in Flavours on the start screen.

How do I cut a rope with a mouse?

Hold down the left mouse button and drag across the rope, or simply click right on it. On a touch screen, swipe across it or tap it.

Does it work on a phone and is my progress saved?

Yes. Snipsnack works in portrait and landscape on phones and tablets and on computers. Your stars and flavours are saved in the browser on your device.
