About the game
Jump into a cute little race car and drift your way to the top! Tirewhirl Rally is a colourful top-down racing game with arcade drifting: keep turning in a corner and your car slides sideways, sparks fly and your boost fills up. Let go at the right moment and zoom ahead of three rivals.
Race on 12 tracks in 4 worlds, from Clover Meadow and Sunny Dunes to slippery Frosty Peaks and sweet Candy Land, with boost pads, puddles and tricky hairpins. Finish on the podium to unlock new tracks, collect stars and coins, buy 5 cars and 10 paints in the Garage, and beat your own ghost in Time trial mode.
How to play
- Your car drives forward by itself: hold the left or right side of the screen (or use ← → / A D) to steer.
- Keep turning in a corner to drift; the longer the drift, the stronger the boost.
- Let go to fire the boost, drive over arrow pads and avoid slippery puddles.
- Finish in the top 3 to unlock the next track; 1st place gives 3 stars.
- Spend coins in the Garage on new cars and paints, and chase gold medals in Time trial.
- Keyboard: ↓ brake, Space drift, P or Esc pause. Drag or tilt steering can be chosen in Settings.
Tips and tricks
- Start turning a little before the corner and keep holding: the car slides into a drift and the sparks change from blue to orange to pink as your boost charges.
- Let go at the end of the corner to fire the boost. A pink spark boost is the strongest, so on long bends hold the drift as long as the track allows.
- Stay on the road. Grass and sand slow your car a lot, and the Dune Buggy is the car that loses the least speed off the track.
- Drive over the arrow pads for a free burst of speed, and steer around puddles, which make your car slide.
- Frosty Peaks has much less grip, so start your turns earlier and use shorter drifts there.
- Drift points also turn into coins after each race, so drifting pays off even when you are already in front.
- In Time trial, race your ghost car: it shows your best lap, so you can see exactly where you lose time.
