About the game

Open the dreamiest nail spa on a tropical lagoon! A little girl, a pop star, a sweet grandma, a mermaid, a princess and a fairy bring you their wish lists. Scrub the nails clean, file them into round, square, almond or ballerina shapes, then paint them with glossy colours and smooth gradients. Finish with sparkling glitter, cute stickers and shiny gems, and dry everything under the UV lamp.

Play 24 levels in three places, from the Seashell Hut to the Moonlight Pavilion. Every level adds something new: an accent colour on the ring finger, old polish to remove, new shapes and stickers, and a patience heart that keeps you quick. Earn up to three stars and coins, buy better tools and new colours in the Boutique, and create anything you like in Free Design.

How to play

Read the customer's wish list: the icons show the shape, colours and decorations she wants.
Clean: scrub the dirt off with the sponge.
Shape: pick the shape and rub the file over each nail tip down to the dotted line.
Polish: pick a colour (two for a gradient) and paint each nail. Wipe slips off the skin with the remover.
Decorate: shake glitter, tap stickers and gems onto the nails.
Press Finish! before the patience heart runs out. Keys: 1–4 steps, arrows to choose, Z undo, Enter finish, P pause.

Tips and tricks

Read the wish list before you start. The icons show the exact shape, length, colours and decorations the customer wants, and every item on the list counts towards your score.
When filing, stop at the dotted line. Filing a nail too short is a mistake, so rub the tip down slowly as you get close.
Paint with steady strokes from the cuticle to the tip and stay on the nail. Polish on the skin lowers your score, but you can wipe it off with the Remover before you finish.
Watch for the ring finger: when the list asks for an accent colour, that nail needs a different colour from the others.
In levels with the patience heart, work in order and do not over-decorate. Finishing with time left earns a bigger tip, and three stars add a little extra.
Spend your first coins on tools in the Boutique. The Big brush, Turbo file and Bubble sponge make every step faster, and Lagoon tea makes customers wait longer.

Is Lacquer Lagoon free?

Yes. Lacquer Lagoon is a free nail salon game that you play online in your browser, with no download and no account.

How do I get three stars?

Follow the wish list exactly and keep polish off the skin. A score of 93 or more gives three stars, 80 gives two and 60 gives one.

How do I open the other places?

Collect stars. Coral Pier opens at 12 stars and Moonlight Pavilion at 30, and within each place the next customer opens when you earn at least one star.

Can I paint nails however I like?

Yes. After level 3 you can open Free Design, pick a customer and use any shape, colour and decoration you have unlocked, with no wish list and no timer.

Does it work on phones and tablets?

Yes. You paint and file with your finger, in portrait or landscape. On a computer or Chromebook you can use the mouse and keyboard shortcuts.

Is my progress saved?

Yes. Your stars, coins and Boutique purchases are saved in the browser on your device, so you can continue later on the same device.
